A Message From The Principal
Dear Smith STEM Parents and Caregivers,
I hope this message finds you well. Can you believe it is mid-November? I love the warm months and the sun filled days but there is something about a chilly, autumn day that lifts my spirits. I want to thank everyone who came to our Smith STEM Night last week. We had over 140 families in attendance! It was a great night filled with active and engaged family learning.
Today, we recognized Veterans Day. Our students participated in many learning activities designed to deepen their understanding about the significance of this important day. Each teacher read a book about Veterans to their class and we also made holiday cards to send to our Veterans who are stationed abroad.
Next week, we will hold parent/guardian-teacher conferences. Our conferences will be in person this year. Conferences are a wonderful opportunity to extend the lines of communication between home and school, keep parents informed about their children's progress—both academic and social—and develop cooperative strategies that can ultimately benefit every student. Report cards will be distributed on Friday, November 11. Students will be dismissed at 1:30pm on 11/14, 11/15, 11/17 and 11/18. Wednesday 11/16 will be a regular 2:00 pm dismissal. Through these conferences we hope to gain insight into your child’s strengths, areas of challenge and next steps on your child’s educational journey.
We have many things to be thankful for here at Smith STEM. I am thankful for the supportive Smith STEM community who works together each and every day to provide our children with a safe and nurturing learning environment. I would like to thank all parents and caregivers for the wonderful things you do for our students each and every day. I wish you a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with blessings, happiness, and special memories.
Kindest Regards,
Teresa
