1st Days of 4 Day In-Person
WE NEED ALL of YOU to KEEP EVERYONE SAFE AND HEALTHY
Picture Day!
Picture day is happening soon! Though many kids will be back in school 4 days a week, for logistical reasons we will still be photographing students based on their cohorts.
Cohort A will be photographed on Tue 3/16 and Cohort B will be photographed on Fri 3/19.
- If your student will be in the building, they only need to be sent to school ready for pictures on the day of their assigned cohort.
- If your child is remote but you would like to bring them to school to be photographed, we are offering an after school option. Please use the below Sign Up Geniuses to sign up.

Whether your child is in school or remote you can use the link below to order picture packages.
We also have an option for those who would like a school photo package, but are unable to sit for the Lifetouch photographer. You can take a photo at home, select a background on the Shutterfly/Lifetouch App and order a photo package using the steps found in the link below.

Get your Venmo ready now with the ARK PTA code.
Socially Distanced Arrival
In the morning, our doors will open at 8:45 am. Please do not send or drop students off prior to 8:45 am.
Once dropped off, Students will proceed to their designated entry and go directly to their classrooms. We will not be lining up outside or in the hallways. As students are being dropped off, our staff members will check for masks. No one will be permitted into school without a mask.
We will have adults directing our students to the appropriate entrances.
All grades K, 1 and 2 students will enter through the main entrance.
All grades 3, 4, 5 students will enter through the 3, 4, 5 blacktop entrance and go directly upstairs to their classrooms.
If you are dropping off your child, have them exit the car quickly and move toward their designated entrance. Please do not leave your car parked in the drop off area and walk your child to the building. We have lots of traffic in the morning and many waiting to drop off.
Socially Distanced Dismissal
In the past, we have called all walkers at the same time. In order to safely exit the building, we will be dismissing walkers by grade level. Bussers will be called when their bus arrives and is ready to receive students.
Kindergarten and 1st grade Walkers will be released through exits leading directly to the blacktop area located at the rear of our building:
- Room 1: Ms. Griggs & Ms. Nosenzo
- Room 2: Ms. Abesh & Ms. Patterson
- Room 3: Ms. Johnson
- Room 4: Mr. Angelucci
- Room 9: Ms. Marchetty
- Room 10: Ms. McAllister
- Room K1: Ms. Leipow
- Room K2: Ms. Forrest
- Room 30: Ms. Glass
There are sidewalks that can be used to access the rear blacktop exit area. Please do NOT go through the parking lot.
Grades 2, 3, 4 & 5 Walkers will exit through the main doors at the front of the building.
We do not have a car pick up area. Anyone picking up their child will need to pick them up at their child's designated exit area or direct their child to a meet up location.
Kindergarten families will need to come to their child's pick up area. For safety reasons, we will not release a kindergartner without seeing the child's adult pick up person.
We do not have any public parking available on school grounds between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. Therefore, you will need to use street parking.
We have a high volume of traffic in the parking lots with bus pick ups. We do not offer public parking during school hours for safety reasons. Please do not walk through parking lots and always use the sidewalks.
A Message from Our Nurse, Mrs. Hawthorne
As we return to in class instruction:
Please keep in mind that as we return to in-class instruction, there will be daily items for you to remember to help your child return safely.
1. Each morning please complete the latest Covid-19 At Home Screening checklist for each child in your family. Please follow the instructions concerning Symptoms, Suspected COVID-19 Exposure, Travel and Quarantine.
If you plan to travel over Spring Break please email your teacher and the School Nurse (Ahawthorne@chclc.org). There are quarantine guidelines we will follow.
2. Because school will be a four hour day with only one snack, please have your child eat a nourishing breakfast.
Send a water bottle daily.
We ask that snack be: nut and peanut free, dry, easy to open and easy to eat
Students will eat outdoors as often as possible, as this will also be a “mask break” for them.
Your child's teacher may request something for students to sit on, other classes stand (6 foot distanced) to eat.
3. Please dress appropriately for the weather as we will be outdoors as often as possible for PE and 6 ft distanced snack time.
4. Masks. All students are to wear one on the bus and into the school building. Please practice with your child how to wear it appropriately over both nose and mouth. Students should know that they are to keep the mask on at all times unless their teacher directs them to take it off to eat. Masks with vents are not allowed in the school.
Please pack at least one extra mask in their backpack in a plastic bag that they can change into should theirs become wet. Students are to keep mask on if they sneeze or cough and may then change to a dry mask if needed.
5. Chromebook - please make sure it is fully charged each night as there is limited space for recharging in the classrooms. If your child's device doesn’t hold a charge, also pack the charger daily.
