The count down is on. Instead of days, we are counting the hours. There are about 50 left. You have got this!
Do you have people in your department that are not reading the newsletter? If so, please let them know what they are missing. This is the main method of communication for our department. I often field questions about PD opportunities for license renewel and benchmark information. I do my best to include this information in the newsletter.
Again, congratulations to Atkins and North High Schools for their accomplishments at the National History Day Regionals. The students were excited and learned a lot from this. And, the teachers put in a lot of work. Thank you for representing Social Studies!
A special shout out to Heather Hahn. Heather just found out she was selected to participate in the Supreme Court Summer Institute. She shared the agenda with me and I am super jealous. Congratulations Heather.
If you have been awarded a scholorship or admitance to a summer institute, please let me know. I love hearing about all the great things you do.
When we return from Spring Break, the next benchmark will only be 3 weeks away. Just wanted to let that marinate a bit.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for all you do. You are hard working people that deserve a ton of respect.
Please relax some this Spring Break. If you need anything, let me know. I will be in the office.
Melissa
