Classroom News!
Whoa! Well, that was fun! Everyone walked through our door on Wacky Wednesday morning looking pretty crazy and that was only the beginning! See pictures below to get a better idea of how we spent the day.
In math this week we worked on one to one correspondence and addition using dominoes. We also learned how to add and subtract with problems when they appear vertically.
We have been reading a beautiful book entitled, "Words" . There is a single word on each page with a simple and clever black and white illustration which invites children to look closely tand think about how each word relates to each picture. Lots of children will be coming home with boxes filled with words that they cut from old magazines. The children made sentences with these words. This would be a fun activity to continue at home!
We wish everyone a safe, happy and relaxing break and we can't wait to see you in April!
Conversation Starters
* Let's write a list of words we love!
* Tell me everything you remember about Wacky Wednesday
* Close your eyes and imagine exactly how the number grid in your classroom looks. What number is after 3? Before 11? What's below 10? What's below 7? Etc.
I Had a Loose Tooth
I had a loose tooth,
a wiggly, jiggly loose tooth.
I had a loose tooth,
a-hanging by a thread.
I pulled my loose tooth,
my wiggly, jiggly loose tooth.
Put it underneath my pillow,
and then I went to bed.
The fairy took my loose tooth,
my wiggly, jiggly loose tooth.
And I have a quarter ,
and a whole in my head.
