Message From The Principal
Happy Friday!
Please make sure to come to our 1st Annual Book Night next Tuesday, April 27th from 5:00-7:00 pm!
Thompson students can come and select one book for free! We hope this will encourage more summer reading. We also plan to have a food truck (tacos) in our parking lot so our families can grab some dinner and have some fun.
We would love to see you there!
Have a wonderful weekend and please stay safe.

2021-22 Returning Student Registration - Closes April 30th at 4:00pm
Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now open in Tyler for returning students. Some components of the registration process are not functional on a mobile device at this time. To register, please use a computer. When the mobile application is working without issue we will let you know.
Return to school in August will resume full-time, five days per week. Students who qualify for an exemption from in-person attendance based upon medical need of the student or a housemate will require a medical provider to complete an exemption request form and return it to the district. The form and instructions will be distributed in April, though registration should still be completed at this time.

Fun & Interesting School Hacks
1.) After writing a paper, copy and paste it on to Google Translate and listen to it to find mistakes.
2.) Download the app 'Photomath.' It lets you take pictures of math problems and teaches you the correct way to solve them.
3.) You are more likely to remember something that you wrote in blue ink rather than black ink.
4.) Peppermint stimulates the brain and helps with concentration.
5.) While studying for a certain subject, pretend you are teaching the material. It helps you pay more attention!
6.) Use wordhippo.com to find words that you can't think of, but can describe.
7.) White text with black outline can be read with ANY color background.
8.) Studying hard for 30-50 minutes at a time with 10 minute breaks in between is the most effective way to study.
9.) Eating chocolate while studying will help the brain retain information easily.
10.) Writing something out is equivalent to reading it 7 times.

Nurse's Fun Fact
Sharks can actually blink, unlike other fish. They can do this with the help of the nictitating membranes which serve as the third eyelid. This however does not mean that sharks blink like humans or other land animals. Sharks have nictitating membranes on the lower and upper part of their eyes. The main function of this eyelid is to protect their eyes. Though, not all sharks have nictitating membranes.
