Principal's Message
Greetings Wolfsville Families,
Happy first week of school! Thanks to all families and students who joined our first ever virtual back to school night on August 27th. If you were unable to join, the recorded sessions will soon be available on our school's website as well as on your teacher's Schoology page.
I hope the first day of school went well for you and your children. We do expect there to be some glitches as we get started. We appreciate your grace and understanding as we work together to solve problems that arise. Adjustments may need to be made along the way and schedules may change a bit. We are all (students, staff, and families) truly embarking on a journey into unfamiliar territory. Thank you to our Wolfsville community for your perseverance and flexibility! It is challenging, yet exciting as we are making history!
The focus for the first week of school will be on building relationships, establishing routines and procedures, and having students become familiar with using Schoology for distant learning. Attendance during teacher live sessions is required. Our teachers and staff are here to help you. Teachers have open office hours each day so that students/families can join a Google Meet for support (see your child's schedule for office hour times). We also have a Virtual Learning Lab available at various times throughout the day to answer questions and lend assistance (see details below).
Please feel free to contact me by phone (240-236-2250) or e-mail (linda.stuart@fcps.org) with any questions you may have. We are here for you!
Yours in Education,
Linda Stuart

Resources to Troubleshoot Google Meet and Schoology
Sharing a few troubleshooting tips if you had difficulty accessing a Google Meet or logging into Schoology:
- Did you receive your child's new password?
- Has your child logged in to the Chrome browser (super important to do first) and Schoology?
See the videos:
Returning students may want to consider resetting Chrome to start the school year with a clean Chrome experience. Review our Troubleshooting Guide to find the instructions for this process. Note: Once you complete the reset, you will have to log back into Chrome.
If you are still having difficulties, please contact your child's teacher. If there are additional issues, feel free to contact the school. Yesterday was a big day and a new experience for many! We greatly appreciate your patience- Thank you
Google Meet Recordings
In case you missed it ...
The following message was sent from the school system on August 27 via Find Out First:
Returning to school in a full virtual model will be a new experience for students, families, and staff. Our priorities during the first week of school will be:
*building relationships with students
*onboarding students into Schoology and the other technology tools they will be using
*establishing routines in the virtual school day.
We recognize the importance of using the first week to lay the foundation for a successful virtual learning experience! During the first week of school, we will not be recording Google Meets. We want students and teachers to get comfortable with each other and the technology before we begin to record Google Meets. It is also important that our teachers receive the training they need to record lessons using specific procedures and precautions.
We will also use the first week of school to gather permission forms from families related to recording Google Meets. We will provide more specific information about the recording of Google Meets next week so that students and parents understand the why and how for recording instruction.

Wolfsville Elementary PTA
Welcome back to school Wildcats!
I will be doing the yearbook again this year. I am working with Lifetouch to iron out details on how you can submit photos to me for the yearbook. When I get that information I will get it out to you. In the meantime, if you would like to send me "First Day of School" photos please email me at kjohns10@gmail.com . Please attach your child's/children's name and grade level so I can place it appropriately in the yearbook. Have a great first day of school!

WFES Student Directory/Membership
In the past, Wolfsville parents have found it useful to have a list of classmates' contact information. If you would like your family to be included in this year's student directory, please use this link to the Google form to submit it. No information will be included unless you provide it explicitly for the directory. If you are unable to access this link, look for a paper copy to come home soon. We will collect information for about two weeks and then provide copies of the directory to each student.
Reflections Program
The PTA needs YOU! We are in need of a Reflections Chair. Reflections is a wonderful opportunity for the students of Wolfsville to creatively express themselves. The students are given the opportunity to create an original piece of work that connects to a theme. The work can be a piece of writing, photography, graphic art, sculpture, dance, etc. The Reflections Chair is the liaison between the county PTA and our school to organize the program here. Please email Jennie Leatherman at kevin.leatherman@comcast.net if you are interested in this very important role. We appreciate your support!
Resources for Virtual Learning
WFES Google Meet Session Names - Your child's Schoology homeroom includes a link at the bottom left hand corner that will quickly take them to each Google Meet session with the teacher. If there is a problem with the link, this document contains instructions on how to access Google Meet sessions with teachers by using session names. We are using consistent Google meet session names to provide consistency for families. Please use the teacher's name link to join all "live" instruction sessions each day.
