Usage

To stay on track with the Think 30 goal, students should use an average of 60-90 minutes per week, completing 2-3 lessons per week. This can be a combination of in-school and at-home work.

Monitoring

Teachers should be checking reports weekly to see who is on track, and intervene with students who are struggling. Please use the Overview Report to monitor student usage on a weekly basis.

Motivation

Motivation is key to success in Imagine Math! Please consider a motivation contest or activity to push students toward success.

Journals

Working out problems on paper is critical. The Journal holds students accountable for their work, and allows you to view their thought process. Journaling is to be incorporated for every question in the Guided Learning section within Imagine Math lessons. Be sure to model and practice journaling with your students multiple times before they take the first Benchmark – it is critical that students completely understand this process before getting started on the program.

Student Launch

Be sure to introduce the program to your students and set up the expectations of Usage, Journaling and Motivation before launching. You can use the Student videos found under the Help tab under Launching Imagine Math with Students

Benchmark One

The first thing the students will do on the program is take a Benchmark Assessment. Provide Benchmark One in a testing environment. Remember, this provides the student’s Quantile measure and instructional grade level.
