Absence Procedure and Absence Notification System for Families and New Email Address
Please still call into the Absence Line by the start of the school day (8:15 a.m.) to report your student's absence and leave a message that states the name of your child and why they will be absent. To reach the absence line call 508-252-5080 and press 1. Alternatively, you may also email the Main Office at bmsattendance@drregional.org by 8:15 a.m. This is a new email address that can be used to report your student's absence as well as to report a tardy or dismissal.
Families of students who are marked as having an unexcused absence and who don't call the Absence Line or email the aforementioned email address by 8:15 a.m. will receive a phone call, text message, and email notification from the District to inform them of the student absence. The message will prompt families to call the Main Office to confirm the absence as soon as possible. The timing of the notification will be 9:15 a.m.
Please note that the procedure above will go into effect in the middle of next week. In the meantime, robocalls will go out regardless if you call the Absence Line or email the Main Office. Please continue to call the Absence Line or email the Main Office by 8:15 a.m. until we work out the issues with the notification system. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
As a reminder, if your child will be absent from school for any reason, then please call the Main Office (508-252-5080), press 1 for the 24/7 Absence Line, and leave a message that states the name of your child and why they will be absent. Please note that "Absences shall be considered excessive when students accumulate more than seven (7) full day unexcused absences or fourteen (14) half-day unexcused absences in a period of six (6) months. Students with excessive absences, please see page 13 and 14 of the Student Handbook.
Absences with a doctor's note are considered excused absences. Please arrange for these doctor's notes to be sent to the Main Office via Fax Number at 508-252-5082 or via email at svincelette@drregional.org

WEATHER ALERTS REMINDER
This is a reminder the Dighton Rehoboth schools will use the Apptegy alerts system for weather-related messages. It is not our plan to use local media outlets. All messages will be sent through Apptegy via text, RoboCall, and email. Apptegy uses the contact information in Aspen. To modify your contact information, please contact the Main Office.

FEBRUARY LUNCH MENU
MYSCHOOLBUCKS INFORMATION
Account payments can be made through MySchoolBucks.com using a debit/credit card or checks at all cafeteria registers. Please make checks payable to “Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District” and include your student’s full name in the memo line.
School meals, both breakfast and lunch, are once again free (see below); however, all students must use the point of sale system to obtain a free lunch. Please encourage your child to remember their lunch pin number because it helps to move along the lunch lines. If a student forgets their pin, then the cafeteria workers need to look it up and this stalls the lunch line.
Students will need to pay for snacks not included with the free meal and this is the reason why a parent would want to put money on their child's account.
