A Special Message for Wade King Kids
This is our last Friday of the school year and our last virtual 'School Meeting.' We hope you will take time to check out everything below. There are several books to listen to that connect to current events. It would be great to listen to them and talk about them with your family.
Love,
Mrs. Johnson & Mr. Holmgren... and all the other adults at Wade King

ANNOUNCEMENT: Taking Action
With everything happening in the world, our family has been thinking about ways we can inspire change, and we wanted to spread this to others in our neighborhood. We decided to hold a Take Action Walk in our neighborhood where we could come together as a community to inspire change.
We placed a box near our house where neighbors can drop off slips of paper where they have written down ways their families have taken action. On the day of the walk, we will read out all the ideas from the box, and then, as a group, we will walk through the neighborhood. We are doing this to raise awareness for social change.
Sincerely, Jessa and Jillian Parfet

MOVEMENT SONG - Pāi shǒu gē 拍手歌 (Hand Clapping Song)
Pāi shǒu gē 拍手歌, translated as Hand Clapping Song, is a traditional Chinese kids rhyme. There are many versions of it, but they are all clapping from one to ten and rhyme, though the English translation doesn’t rhyme. In the next few weeks, we will learn the Pāi shǒu gē a few lines at a time. Many Wade King friends helped to make this video. Chelsea, Olive, Elsa, Ruby, Jessie, and Cece helped to draw pictures. Owen, Chelsea, Jessie, Jack, Jenny, Julia and Marina helped to demonstrate the rhyme. Enjoy!
