Weekly Update
*** This is a reminder that your student has a planner where they write down what they did at school that day AND what they should be finishing up at home.
- Items with a ✔️ have been completed at school.
- Items that are circled 🔘 are school work that needs to be finished at home.
All students are told to take their planner home each day to track their progress.
Please ask them if they have their planner. ***
Reading:
In Reading we will continue reading our novel. We will use this novel over the next few weeks to learn about the different literary elements; the novels will stay in class and we will read it together.
If the students would like to bring their poster board for their book report diorama to school on Wednesday, I will be modeling in class how to cut and fold it in order to create their project.
The project is to be completed at home and is due on September 29th!
Language Arts:
- In Writing we will continue writing our personal narrative while continue to work on sentence structure and grammar.
Math:
- Students will be working on their "6" facts this week. Any extra practice at home on these concepts will help them. Ask them what some of the "6:" facts have in common with 3"s and 9's.
- We are wrapping up Topic #2 which covers adding and subtracting decimals.
- We are on Topic 3 this week which is multiplying with 3-digit by 2-digit numbers (768 x 47 = ?).
Science:
- In Science we will start learning about Mixtures & Solutions. See if your students can tell you the difference between the two.
- Students are working on a presentation about how to clean up a beach. The general gist is how to separate things. They can use known tools or be creative and create one.

- In Social Studies we will begin learning about when, where, and why groups of people explored the US including the search for religious freedom and economic gain.
