SNOW DAYS

7TH - 12TH GRADE SKI DAY - WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD
Link for the permission slip to be turned back into HLCS: Ski Day Permission Slip
The Boyne liability MUST be done online: The link for the website: 1Waiver (1risk.net) Or visit the webpage at boynehighlands.com, click on snowsports academy, then scroll all the way down on that page and you will find the "release form" link.
We need a lot of volunteers to make ski day work! If you would like to volunteer to help out please email the office to let us know if you will be skiing with students or supervising off the slopes. You will need to sign both forms as well.
We have limited access to the lounge this year to warm and eat. Please pack a lunch for your child for ski day.
If your child is not participating in ski day there will be no school on the ski day for his or her respective grade. Please still return the school permission slip marked not participating if your child does not want to participate so we are able to keep track of who will and will not be in attendance.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SLEDDING DAY - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH
~More information to follow~
Charley Chamberlain, Kindergarten
"Charley brings pure joy to our school. I've never seen her without a smile on her face!"
Mrs. Barnes
"Charley is a very happy and respectful young lady. We are so blessed to have her in our kindergarten class."
Mrs. Jacklitch
Jude Riggs, 4th Grade
"Jude is very respectful to me. He really wants to do what is right. He adds good discussion to our class time. I am amazed at his ability to write so well both at fiction and nonfiction. Love ya Jude!."
Kirk Rose, 9th Grade
"Kirk has been stretching himself in creative writing, breaking down walls, and allowing himself to show some vulnerability. He has also been a positive force holding the other 9th grade boys together and keeping them locked into what they are supposed to be doing."
Mr. Ernst
CALL FOR COACHES
Harbor Light Swordsmen sports teams have thrived since the beginning of the school with amazing Christian role models who have volunteered as coaches for our students. We have a couple opportunities opening up at HLCS coming up this spring and next fall!
Our softball coach, Kurt Brushaber has decided his coaching experience would come to an end with his daughter graduating last year. Also, our soccer program, which has been a staple in HLCS athletics since the inception of the school, fizzled out a couple of years ago with a lack of interest. However, after speaking to our upcoming students, we appear to have a great deal of kids interested in soccer again! This will require a coach to facilitate reviving the program.
If either of these are a place you would enjoy investing your time, please contact our athletic director, Shelda Blair at sblair@harborlight.org.
“One coach will impact more young people in one year than the average person does in a lifetime” ~Billy Graham
