Mass and Commencement:
The Mass, begins at 5 pm at St. Albert Catholic Parish. Seating is on a first-come basis and students sit with their families. Following Mass, there will be a brief break before the start of the student recognition portion. Students will be called up by homeroom and come up on stage one at a time to receive a gift and congratulations from administration. There are no tickets or fees for this portion of the evening.
Dance:
Following the Church program, students who purchase dance tickets for themselves, (and an approved guest - more information to come) are to head directly to VJM for the dance. Doors will close at 7:30 pm. Snacks and refreshments will be available for students at the dance. The dance concludes at 9:30 pm. We will be looking for parent volunteers to assist at the dance. In order to volunteer you will need a criminal record and vulnerable record check. Please work on completing these documents if volunteering to help with the dance is of interest to you.
If you have any additional questions or are willing to volunteer, please contact Jamie French at jfrench@gsacrd.ab.ca or Amy Urschel at aurschel@gsacrd.ab.ca or call 780.458.1113.

GSACRD - Registration is OPEN!
Registration is open for the 2023-2024 school year for current and new students! As the new school year approaches, I want to emphasize the importance of registering your children for their 2023/24 schools. Registering your child(ren)l allows educators to prepare for the upcoming academic year, ensuring that your child has access to all the resources and tools they need to succeed. It also helps schools to plan for the number of students they will have, which is crucial for maintaining a proper student-to-teacher ratio and ensuring that each student receives individual attention. Register now and ensure a spot for your child(ren) in your chosen schools and programs!
Registration Instructions for current GSACRD students:
- Once registration opens at your student’s school log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal HERE
- Complete the Registration Form in full and submit it. You will receive an email confirming your submission.
- Your student’s Registration Form will be reviewed by the school and you will be contacted with further information.
Report Cards:
Report cards will be accessible through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. To locate your child's report card:
- You will need to log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Click HERE to connect to the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please bookmark this link so you can easily use the PowerSchool Parent Portal in the future.
- Once you have logged in, there is a list of Navigation links on the left-hand side of the screen. At the bottom of the list, please click on the Report Card link to proceed to the next screen.
- You will then be able to select the report card you wish to view as a PDF. Once you click the report card link, you also have the option to download the report card.
- Once downloaded, you can open the file to view and Save. Please save or print off a copy of the report card for future reference.
Here is a short step-by-step video on accessing the report card: Report Card Video. To view your child's report card, you will need to do so using a computer (desktop or notebook) or a Chromebook – a mobile device is not supported.
If you have not created a PowerSchool Parent Portal account, please get in touch with your child's school for assistance.
Pray with us.
Sunday, June 4, 2023 | Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity | John 3:16-18
Friends, today’s Gospel gives us the famous assurance that God gave his Son that we might have eternal life.
There is a terrible interpretation of the cross that holds the view that the bloody sacrifice of the Son on the cross was “satisfying” to the Father, an appeasement of a God infinitely angry at sinful humanity. In this reading, the crucified Jesus is like a child hurled into the fiery mouth of a pagan divinity in order to assuage its wrath.
What eloquently gives the lie to this awful interpretation is today’s passage, which is often proposed as a summary of the Christian message. God the Father is not some pathetic divinity whose bruised honor needs to be restored; rather, God is a parent who burns with compassion for his children who have wandered into danger. It is not out of anger or vengeance that the Father sends the Son but precisely out of love.
Does the Father hate sinners? No, but he hates sin. Does God harbor indignation at the unjust? No, but God despises injustice. Thus God sends his Son not gleefully to see him suffer but to set things right.
Summer Camp Information
Our Lady of Victory Camp - Archdiocese of Edmonton
If you have a child in grades 4-12, we have a place for them at Our Lady of Victory Camp this summer! Consider sending them to camp where they can swim in our lake, gather around the campfire, play epic games, and grow in their faith during one of our four weeks of camp this summer. If you don’t have a camp-aged child, you can still get involved in the preparations for our camp reopening this summer. Please pray for us! We also always need workers on the ground to help prepare the site for the summer and would welcome any financial support you might give. We look forward to gathering with families and camp supporters on Saturday, July 8th, for Mass with the Archbishop and a BBQ. If you have any questions, please contact us at 587-447-2837 or visit www.olvcamp.com.
