Dear wolfpack community--
Hope our Jewish families had a meaningful Yom Kippur - Day of Atonement yesterday and that the rest of our families were able to make use of the day off!
Did you join us for Family Bake Night Friday? We had a fantastic time with Chef and Reed parent Diana Sproveri baking our apple pie snack cakes! We hope to post some of examples of our student's successes later this week! To include your child's finished cake, please email a photo to wrmsptsapres@gmail.com.
Later this week, we've got another opportunity for students, with 2 virtual Reflections Workshop events featuring Reed teachers Mr. Rogers (Oct. 1 at 2:30 PM, visual arts and special artists) and Mr. Tahi (Oct. 2 at 2:30 PM, film and photography)
This is also the LAST WEEK for Reed students to join/renew their PTSA membership to qualify for our Oct 19th Student member Kahoot social!
Thursday also kicks off the month of October and National Principals Month which honors principals for their significant impact on the success and well-being of our nation’s students. One way to help us celebrate? Send a personalized e-card to our fantastic principal, Mrs. Robyn Friedman (robyn.friedman@lausd.net), for all her hard work during these unprecedented times.
October is also National Bullying Prevention Month and Dyslexia Awareness Month! We'll be sharing resources throughout the month to bring awareness to these campaigns.
Stay safe and healthy!

*Every way is the right way to PTSA! Anything you can give, whether it is membership, participation at events, attending meetings, staying connected with news and social media, donating, or high fives will support your child's potential.
Last Chance to Survey!
STUDENTS, TEACHERS, PARENTS have until the END OF THE WEEK to take our quick 5 minute survey -- in ENGLISH or in SPANISH. You have the option to share your opinions anonymously or to include contact information. Every decision we make at PTSA is guided by Reed community members like you -- and that's why we're asking for your help. Thank for your time and feedback!
To assist students in participating in the PTSA Reflection art program, Mr. Rogers and Mr. Tahi will be reviewing the PTSA Reflections guidelines and presenting ideas about how students can get the most out of their art and do their best in this competition.
- Thursday, October 1st at 2:30 - Mr. Rogers will be presenting in the categories of Visual Arts and the Special Arts Division
- Friday, October 2nd at 2:30 - Mr. Tahi will be presenting on film making and photography
Zoom links will be posted for students in Schoology.
What is Reflections? OCTOBER IS NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH
As our students spend more time than ever using technology this year, we thought we'd share some Cyberbullying resources for parents!
"Often, the perception is that cyberbullying only happens on social media platforms, which require individuals to be at least 13 before signing up and using these services...However, children can be subjected to or participate in inappropriate online behavior as soon as they have access to technology. If they have access to text messaging, group chats, an email address, or a gaming site, there is the potential for cyberbullying."
It is important to have open conversations with your child and to give them the tolls they need to make the right choices online. Learn more here!
