Tyngsborough Elementary School

September 18, 2022 Update

We are excited to welcome our families to TES on Thursday, September 29th! The format for our Open House is a meet and greet with opportunities for students to show off their classroom, work, and their school. Our students take the lead on this night!

Prior to Open House you will receive a curriculum overview via email from your child's classroom teacher(s).

Below is our 2022-2023 Family Handbook. The Family Handbook contains important information about our school, as well as policies and procedures that are designed to ensure our school functions as a positive, educationally-focused learning community where students thrive and grow.

2022-2023 TES School Council

We are seeking 2-3 parents to join this year's School Council. We will meet 3 times over the course of the school year. Meetings will be held at TES at 7:30-8:15 a.m. Please email kerry.cavanaugh@tyngsboroughps.org if you are interested in joining. Thank you!

There are four major areas of responsibility for councils. School councils are to assist principals in:

  1. Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards

  2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school

  3. Reviewing the annual school building budget

  4. Formulating a school improvement plan/strategy for district improvement

Don't forget to show your STRIPES on the bus!

At TES, we are committed to making your child’s ride to and from school safe, calm, and enjoyable. Students should keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves. Students should be respectful with their words and actions.

Please take a moment to review this Bus Safety Video with your child. Here is some additional information:

  1. It is recommended that you arrive at your bus stop 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.

  2. Be at your stop 5 minutes prior to your child being dropped off. Kindergarten children will not be let off the bus unless someone is there to get them. If there is no one at the child’s stop, the child will be brought back to school and the parent/guardian will be contacted to pick the child up at the school.

  3. Bus warnings will be written up by the driver if your child is not following the established bus rules.

  4. Bus warnings will be sent home with your child to be signed by a parent/guardian. Parents/guardians will be notified by a building administrator if a child receives a bus warning.

Your support in reinforcing positive bus behavior is greatly appreciated. Our hope is that we are able to work together to provide your child with a safe riding experience each and every day.
