Weekly Newsletter - 5/13/19

Hello RHE families,
Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all of our moms!
As we wrap up the Staff Appreciation Week, I just want to say how fortunate and proud I am to be a part of the RHE Family. Together, we work hard to ensure the children are safe, happy, and learning every day. Thank you to the RHHSA for providing staff appreciation treats for all of our staff members. The RHHSA celebrated all of our favorite “characters” on the Rolling Hills staff with some of our favorite children’s books! The staff indulged on special treats and lunch.
We were also delivered special gifts that meant so much to us. Staff also received notes with wonderful messages from the students! We are very fortunate to have such a strong and caring partnership.
I want to thank to Mrs. Vaughan for an outstanding Spring Choral Concert. The children sounded great. For the limited amount of time they have to practice, they produce such amazing results and for that, we commend the teachers and students! Additionally, thank you to the families for their support of our music program. We are looking forward to the instrumental concert next week!
Lastly, we are very excited about Field Day next Friday. Field Day shirts will be delivered on Monday, May 13th. Also, please see below about volunteering on field day.

Staff Appreciation Week - Thank you!
The Staff Appreciation Committee would like to extend a huge "thank you" to all of Rolling Hills families who helped us show our gratitude to the teachers and staff of our school. This week, we presented them with a special gift or surprise each day of the week that centered around a different children's book. Please check out recent posts on the Rolling Hills Home & School Association Facebook page for photos from the week. We would especially like to thank those families who donated their time, sent in specific items, or made a monetary donation towards this event. This week would not have been possible without their help! Those families are the Fistick, Hathaway, Chernay, Gellman, Dress, Buchman, Jayawickreme, Geiger, Herman, Schrack, Conway, Lazzaro, Griffin, Tabit, Joshua, Radcliffe, Takach, Wicke, Furey, Hauben, Jilozian, McNulty, Fein, Penland, Kowalewski, Gutierrez, Altmeyer, Verica, Fiocca, Rozengarten, Schweidler, Hunter, Galasso, Wojciechowski, Branderbit, Ruffenach, Korn, Franchini, Zarnowsky, Mandel, Peirce, Vassallo, Weinstein, Ralston, Kramer, Keaveney, Marques, Melhuish, Griffin, Jainnini, and Chiarello families. The teachers, staff members, bus drivers, and crossing guards were extremely grateful!
Save the Date - Visit/Tour RMS - May 23rd
As you know, Rolling Hills Elementary will be undergoing a complete renovation during next school year (the 2019-2020 school year). We are excited about the transformation that will be happening at our school. During the renovation, Rolling Hills Elementary will be housed at the former Richboro Middle School (98 Upper Holland Road, Richboro, Pa 18954) for the 2019-2020 school year. Currently, Wrightstown Elementary is housed at this location during their current renovation. There has been a lot of planning to help us prepare for next school year and for the renovations.
Families are invited to tour Richboro Middle School on Thursday, May 23rd, 6:30-7:30. Additionally, I will be holding two informational meetings in the auditorium for families. Parents with students currently in kindergarten through second grade can meet in the auditorium at 6:30. Parents with students currently in third through fifth grade can meet in the auditorium at 7:00. If parents have students that span different grade levels, you can choose which session to attend.
Parents and students will be able to see the layout of the school and the playground. The school currently houses Wrightstown Elementary. There will be some adjustments when we move to the school. Classrooms assignments and locations have not been determined. The tour is to give families the opportunity to see our future home.
Please note that this is not a student drop off event. We ask that students stay with their parents while visiting RMS/WES. During the time of our visit, we will still be guests of the school. We will want to be respectful of the classrooms and decorations when we visit for the evening.
