We have had another fantastic week of learning here at Balladen CP School.
As we had the photographer in school early on Monday we did not have our usual community assembly. I have seen some of the photographs and they look wonderful. Well done everyone for all of the smiles! We also held a Curriculum and Standards meeting for Governors on Monday in school. The Governors who attended were really impressed with our assessment data, the direction our school is moving and the commitment of all colleagues within the school. After school Mr. Stanton lead girls football training and it was a real joy to hear the laughter and observe some of the great skills of those taking part.
On Tuesday we had another busy day. Children in Key Stage 2 had the opportunity to join Street Dance and we had football training after school.
On Wednesday four of our incredible children took part in the final of the mixed tennis competition at Fears. You can see some of their pictures here. Well done for your incredible effort and for the second place! Two of our teachers led a professional development session at Tor View which was received very favourably. Well done to Mrs. Pickup and Mrs. Hopkins!
On Thursday Year 3 went swimming and Year 4 had athletics training. After school our football team played St Veronica's and won 7-2. The boys played incredibly well and we are very proud of their commitment and skill!
On Friday we held our celebration assembly. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who came and well done to all of the children who were very brave speaking in front of the whole school and parents! We are always proud of the children's achievements here at Balladen and we love sharing and celebrating learning with others! Year 4 went river walking with Mr. Grime and they had a wet but wonderful time.
Another week of learning and fun has gone very, very well. Thank you and well done to our incredible school community for making Balladen CP School an enjoyable and purposeful place of learning each and every day.
Have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing all of those Monday smiles!
With respect,
Mr Neil Ringrose
