Kids Safe Search
Kiddle is a kid safe visual search engine. Since Kiddle results are either handpicked and checked by the editors or filtered by Google safe search, you know you get kid-oriented results without any explicit content. In case some bad words are present in a search query, the guard robot will block the search.
Introducing Open eBooks
Open eBooks
Open eBooks is a partnership between Digital Public Library of America, The New York Public Library, and First Book, with content support from digital books distributor Baker & Taylor. This effort is made possible by generous commitments of publishers with funding support provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and is part of the White House ConnectED Initiative.
Kyte Learning
Offered is individualized, self-paced, video lessons that let you learn the tech skills you need, in an affordable, flexible, and surprisingly enjoyable way.
The school district is offering 1 credit for courses taken. You have until April 30 to complete the 12 hours of viewing and assessments. The time that each course states it would take to complete is the time you log.
Even though you complete your 12 hours for credit you still have access to Kyte Learning through the summer months. This allows you to take additional courses and be ready for the next school year.
Google Accounts
All students in the district have Google Accounts. Email is disables for K-5 students, but they have still have access to all other GAFE (Google Apps for Education). If you need help with username and/or passwords, please ask your friendly tech person :)
