Discoveries with Technology

How does technology help us discover more?
Introduction
I choose this question because I was really interested in how technology helped us discover more. So today I'm going to show you some examples of how technology helped us discover more!
The earliest known working telescopes appeared in 1608 and are credited to Hans Lippershey. Among many others who claimed to have made the discovery were Zacharias Janssen, a spectacle-maker in Middelburg, and Jacob Metius of Alkmaar. The design of these early refracting telescopes consisted of a convex objective lens and a concave eyepiece. Galileo used this design the following year. In Galileo used it.many people believed that the moon was a perfect sphere till 1 year later the telescope was invented Galileo was the first one to find out that the moon had many holes.
Hubble Space Telescope
Hubble space telescope
The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) is a space telescope that was carried into orbit by a Space Shuttle in 1990 and remains in operation.[7] A 2.4-meter (7.9 ft) aperture telescope in low Earth orbit, Hubble's four main instruments observe in the near ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared spectra. The telescope is named after the astronomer Edwin Hubble.

Hubble's orbit outside the distortion of Earth's atmosphere allows it to take extremely high-resolution images with almost no background light. Hubble's Deep Field has recorded some of the most detailed visible-light images ever, allowing a deep view into space and time. Many Hubble observations have led to breakthroughs in astrophysics, such as accurately determining the rate of expansion of the universe.
The Clock
In ancient times people measured time by watching the position of the sun in the sky. As the sun passed over a column or other device it would create a shadow. The length of the shadow would change depending on where the sun was in the sky. The length of a column’s shadow therefore showed the basic time of a day.
A clock is a device other than a watch for indicating or measuring time. There are Hk three main types of clocks: mechanical, electrical, and atomic. All three have the same basic parts. They must have a source of power, a device to keep the parts moving at regular intervals, and a way to display the time. Many clocks are made to be beautiful objects as well as useful devices. For example
Harrison's chrono meter 1761
Finding longitude at sea
they could compare time at home shown by a clock with the time where they were at sea shown by the sun
In 1577, Jost Burgi invented the minute hand. Burgi's invention was part of a clock made for Tycho Brahe, an astronomer who needed an accurate clock for his stargazing.
