More Coffee Changes - This week JavaGenesis Coffee Roasting has two more changes to their lineup of coffees. Their Colombia La Nubia has been replaced by the Colombia Gran Galope. The Gran Galope is a a rich, smooth coffee with creamy, heavier body and cocoa notes. The second change is a switch from the Brazil Decaf Swiss Water Process decaf to a Brazil Decaf Mountain Water Process Decaf. What's the difference between SWP and MWP? This article does a nice job of explaining the decaffeination process. http://imbibemagazine.com/demystifying-decaf-coffee/
The new Brazil Decaf MWP tastes so great, you'll think you're drinking regular! Oh, and are you curious what they do with the caffeine laden water? They sell it to the soft drink manufacturers and energy drink companies.
AtlantaFresh Artisan Creamery - New! Buttermilk Quarts I've had several requests for grass-fed, cultured buttermilk and now we have it on the market. We have to have a minimum of 12 ordered for us to get this delivered this week. Consider pick up 1 or 2. They freeze well, just remember to take off a small amount for expansion when it freezes. Use it for baking, salad dressing. add to smoothies, pancakes, and/or to use in your veggie slaw. This product is a 2017 Southern Living Award Winner and featured in the magazine!

Group Buy - Unrefined Sea Salt
Our long awaited group for for Unrefined Sea Salts from Saltworks is finally here!
We only order sel gris de Guérande (Grey Sea Salt) once a year so you don’t want to miss out! I will take orders this week and next week.
Please expect to pick up your salt order in mid November. See my gift idea below. During the holidays I gift this salt to friends and family and they absolutely love it!
Grey Sea Salt Description
The French perfected the art of high quality, hand-harvested sea salt by using centuries old Celtic methods. It’s no coincidence they produce the finest grey sea salt in the world. Sel Gris is known for its beautiful grey color, coming from the clay lining the salt ponds, as well as its high moisture content and extraordinary mineral content, with bonus nutrients not found in most sea salts. Over 15% of the material in sel gris de Guérande are trace minerals—possibly the highest of any salt anywhere. 100 grams of sel gris contains about 100 minerals, including 34g of sodium, 287mg calcium, 109mg potassium, 34mg magnesium, 11mg iron, 1mg manganese, and 0.35mg zinc, plus a host of trace minerals like from antimony, copper, germanium, and gold to iodine, to palladium, yttrium, and zirconium.
Sel Gris Tamisé is a medium-sized crystal that is carefully sifted from the brut grains and is comparable to the size of Fleur de Sel. Great for baking and cooking, or to add a delicate crunch to your favorite dish.
Sel Gris Fine is the very same high quality grey salt as the coarser varieties, but is stone ground for easy dispensing from a salt shaker. No additives of any kind are mixed with the salt. The naturally delicious flavor of grey salt and its lower sodium content make this a perfect replacement for ordinary table salt.
Gift Idea- Pour unrefined sea salt into a decorative glass jar, add beautiful ribbon and it’s the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys cooking! You can even add a card with the description above. Makes a perfect Hostess gift too!

New Coffee! Sumatra Lintong
JavaGenesis Coffee Roasting has a new coffee listed on the market this week! It is a delicious dark roast Sumatra Lintong. You may also notice that the Java Ciwidey isn't listed on the market. Coffee is an agricultural crop and JavaGenesis buys their coffee when the new harvest is available each year. When the crop is sold out at the importer it's gone until the next harvest. Just as happens with all agricultural crops, the next harvest may not be as plentiful, as good or may not be available at all. That means JavaGenesis must search for an awesome replacement for your favorite coffee. This season they found the Sumatra Lintong that has the same flavor notes as the Java Ciwidey but is even better than the Java. Give it a try this week!
Here's more about the Sumatra Lintong and why we chose it...
The Sumatra Lintong is grown on a large estate in the village of Lake Mungkur in Northern Sumatra. The estate is 480 hectares, was established in 2006 and is 4500ft above sea level. The estate employs over 1,000 workers and practices organic and sustainable farming techniques in the hope of eventually becoming Organic and/or Rainforest Alliance certified. The estate has also implemented its own corporate social responsibility program, which so far has completed building a clinic for the farm's workers and started a "Farmer's Support Center" that will share information about farm management along with distributing organic fertilizers, seedlings and shade trees free of charge.
PLEASE HELP! Volunteers Needed at pick up!
Please consider volunteering during market pick up. I can’t run the co-op without your help! Shifts are 1 hour long and go by really fast. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow members. The schedule IS UPDATED through the end of 2017
THANK YOU Chuck, and Cindy for volunteering your time to help with pick up on Tuesday!!
Thank you in advance for your support!
