Dear Central Road Families:

This past week was filled with fun, excitement, and learning! Between Halloween, our Book Fair, Author's Visit, and Fall Spirit Week, the energy at Central Road was amazing. We too appreciated the milder, fall weather. Please note that daylight saving time takes place on Sunday, Nov.6th, we will "fall back" one hour granting everyone an extra hour of sleep. We appreciate you taking the time to read and review our weekly communication. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out for support and/or clarification. Please enjoy the weekend with family and friends. We will see our students back at school on Monday, November 7th. There is NO school on Tuesday, November 8th-Election Day.

Our first triemester will officially end on Friday, November 4th for students in grades 1-6. Progress reports/report cards will be issued for parent viewing on Friday, November 18th. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be taking place on Monday, November 21st from 12:00-8:00 pm and on Tuesday, November 22nd from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to set up a conference if you have not done so already. We truly value our home-school connections and look forward to communicating with families on student progress.

The Family Support videos include prior learning, vocabulary explanations, math in pictures, and an easy-to-implement activity all designed to help families and caregivers successfully support their students with math learning at home. Link is HERE for review. Thank You

The Spelling Bee is right around the corner. Students in grade 4th-6th will participate in classroom spelling bees the week of November 28th. One classroom winner will be identified to participate in the school spelling bee that is taking place on Wednesday, December 14th. Parents or Guardians of the winners will be invited to come in person, if they wish, to watch the spelling bee. We ask there is a maximum of two guests per winner to attend the event. There will be no virtual option this school year. Please reach out to Mrs. Green or your child's classroom teacher if you have any questions.

Central Road PTA will be hosting a winter wear drive again this year! Donations will be used for CR student emergencies and to support Partners for Our Communities. Please bring your new or gently used winter hats, gloves/mittens, scarves and brand new socks to school between November 14– 18. A bin will be set up in the front vestibule for donations.

At Central Road School, we encourage our students to show respect, kindness, and gratitude at all times. Our teachers and staff work hard at setting a positive example for all of our students. Thank you for helping with our Halloween Classroom Parties on the 31st. Students had a wonderful time! If there are any extra funds left over that we are able to use for Valentine's Day parties, please have your child bring them to the school office (labeled for PTA) in the coming week or so.
