Meet The Teacher - Monday, August 9
Come on in, bring your school supplies, and meet your teacher!
For the purpose of distancing, this event will be in two different chunks of time. Families with last names beginning with the letters A-L will come first, and those beginning with letters M-Z will follow.
We would like to invite you to enter through our front lobby and head toward your grade level (we will have plenty of people in the hallways to direct you). Class lists will be posted outside of classroom doors. Edukits will have already been delivered to classrooms.
Once you have found your seat and met your teacher, we would like you to exit either the north or south doors of the building. Please do not exit back out the lobby. Remember, this event is a quick one just to simply meet your teacher; parents will be invited back for an informative Curriculum Night the second week of school (see additional info below).
Last Names A-L: 8:30-9:15
Last Names M-Z: 9:30-10:15
2020-2021 Yearbook Update
Covid Mitigation Info (as of August 3)
We do anticipate new guidelines from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) and will update you as we receive more information. For now, here is what we have in place:
Per Arizona State law (A.R.S. ยง 15-342.05), cloth face masks will continue to be optional, though we strongly recommend that both our vaccinated and unvaccinated students, staff, and visitors wear them while in our schools. To follow federal guidelines, cloth face masks continue to be required on school buses.
- Where possible, implement measures to facilitate social distancing:
- Arrange appropriate seating in classrooms, offices, cafeterias, etc.
- Turn desks/tables to face in the same direction (rather than facing each other) or have students sit on only one side of tables, spaced apart.
- Maintain appropriate spacing in hallways, cafeteria, on playground, etc.
- Continue to maintain healthy air quality by cleaning all HVAC unit coils and changing air filters as scheduled.
- Maintain hand sanitizer stations in lobbies and campus main entries.
- Maintain additional handwashing sinks.
- Encourage staff and students to bring their own water to minimize use and touching of water fountains.
- Maintain porters for cleaning in elementaries and middle schools.
- Assign cafeteria seating with distancing (three students per bench)
- Maintain grade level cohorts upon arrival at school
All of the information below this point is from last week's letter...
In other words, if you read last week's letter, your job is finished :-)

Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) ~ Our Culture of PAWS
One of the foremost advances in schoolwide discipline is the emphasis on schoolwide systems of support that include proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. Instead of using a piecemeal approach of individual behavioral management plans, a continuum of positive behavior support for all students within a school is implemented in areas including the classroom and non-classroom settings (such as hallways, buses, playground, and restrooms). We have developed specific expectations across campus as a means to set students up for success. We will also be using reflection sheets when needed as a means to increase communication between school and home with regard to behaviors that are not within acceptable expectations.
