What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
The temperatures are quite chilly, but the students love to be able to go outside and get some fresh air during the day. Just a reminder that if the wind chill is above zero degrees, we go outside for recess. Please continue to send proper winter gear for your children.
There is no school Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Day. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!
Have a safe and wonderful snowy weekend,
Erin & Julia

Lunch Shift Change Tuesday, January 21st, will be our official lunch shift change day. Students that had lunch at 12:10 PM for the first half of the year will eat at 12:40 PM and go out for recess first. Students that had lunch at 12:40 PM will eat at 12:10 PM and go out for recess afterward. We are looking forward to this change and the opportunity for our students to experience the lunch period from a new perspective. Students will continue to sit with their class at their assigned lunch tables. | 5Essentials Survey There is still time to take the 5Essentials Survey! In order to receive a parent feedback report, we need at least 20% of our parents to respond. We currently have 22% participation. We would love to have even more feedback. Please consider taking the survey below! Thank you! | Erin's LawThis year Erin’s Law presentations will take place during January and February. Click HERE for information about Erin's Law, topics covered at each grade level, and the opt out form if you wish for your child to not participate in the lesson. Chearee Hardt, the OMS social worker, will be presenting in classrooms by grade level, with some classes combined. Presentations will be one time for about 30 minutes. Classroom teachers and the social worker collaborated to determine the best times for these to occur. Classroom teachers will share the schedule for their class with you. The OMS PTA has graciously donated a set of books for parents to preview if they would like. These will be available in the office beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21st. Please see Chris or Allison in the office to view them. |
