Solubility lab with vinegar
Peter Ferguson
Purpose
The purpose of this lab was to test the solubility of 4 different substances in vinegar.A substance is soluble if it dissolves in the vinegar.if the substances does not dissolved in the vinegar it is not soluble.
Hypothesis
My hypothesis is that when the baking soda is added to the vinegar they will have a reaction. When the flour is added to the vinegar nothing will happened.
Procedure
step1:Put the baking soda in the cup of vinegar.
step2:Take a picture of the baking soda in the vinegar.
step3:Stir the baking soda with a spoon for 2 minutes.
step4:Take a picture of the baking soda in the vinegar.
step5:Redo step1-4 with a different substance
step6:Record the data
Baking soda before 2
The baking soda bubbled up.
Baking soda after 2
The vinegar started to be clear.
flour before 2
The flour looked messy.
flour after 2
The vinegar got cloudy.
powdered sugar before 2
The powdered sugar stayed on top of the vinegar.
powdered sugar after 2
The vinegar got cloudy also.
table salt before 2
The table salt got stuck on the top.
table salt after 2
The table salt made the vinegar clear.
Conclusion
My hypothesis was correct because the baking soda did what i said it would bubble up in te vinegar.
