Note from the Principal's Desk

Happy Grandparent's Day! We enjoyed welcoming parents to visit classrooms for pastries with parents Friday! Thank you to all the parents who donated donuts and juice for our event.

PTA has organized an energized walk to school day this Wednesday! We hope you can join us! The map and information is in this newsletter.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming the week of September 19th! This year, say hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. (Cash will still be accepted) If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

Please consider kindly donating to a collaborative eWallet for low-income students to access, so every student can bring home a book! Funds will be allocated via teacher discretion. Thank you for your generosity!

Students in grades K-2, have begun bringing their Read Every Day (RED) folders home this past week to review letters, phonics, sight words, and read a book every night for 20 minutes. Please support your child with their RED folder!

Students in grades 3-5 will begin a multiplication challenge this week. Please work with your child on their multiplication facts daily. Students can use IXL to practice.

We need YOU! Buddies choose a time to come to the school every week. They are assigned to one class where they help small groups of students work on reading/literacy skills. Everything you need to know will be communicated in a training session! It is so powerful to help students gain the confidence and ability to read well and succeed in life!

Yane Yoo

Hello! My name is Yane Yoo and I have three children: AJ (5th), Luke (3rd - traditional) and Anna (K - Montessori) and an amazing husband, Ben. Currently, Luke and Anna attend Huntley Hills. I work for a beverage company and studied accounting and have always had interest in the power of technology to enable how we do work better. Teachers and the education system impacted me as a child of immigrant parents. I would love the opportunity to serve the community through helping our principal, teachers and school in whatever way I can
