2017-18 Troop 2501 Update
We've really enjoyed having your daughters in our Daisy troop this year! We hope they all been having fun, too! Here is some important information regarding our troop going forward:
BRIDGING
Our Daisy Troop will be bridging to Brownies this summer (in July, details TBD).
In order to bridge, each Daisy is required to:
- Meet with a Brownie to find out more about being a Brownie, see their uniform, ask questions, etc.
- Meet with a younger kid and tell them what it's like to be a Daisy, show their uniform and answer questions, etc.
We had two troop meetings where the girls had the opportunity to complete these requirements. If your daughter attended both, she is all set to bridge! If your daughter missed one or more parts, she will need to find a way to complete this on her own (we will need a note stating what she did and when). This is a requirement from the Girl Scouts, it's not difficult to do, but important each girl does this.
NEXT YEAR
It's already time to register the girls for next year. Because our troop is amazing and did such a great job with selling cookies this year, we have the troop funds to pay for each girl's membership! The $30 membership fee goes to the national/local council. It looks like the troop will also be able to cover each girl's Brownie book ($20)! And, at this point we do not anticipate collecting troop dues* for the girls that are continuing!!!! The only purchase required for each girl to continue would be for her own Brownie uniform (we can get into specifics of that later). *This is subject to change depending on activities we do next year though.
We do need to know soon if your daughter wants to continue and be a Brownie with the troop for the following school year. Please let Katie know ASAP so she can get everyone registered! We'd love to have the entire troop continue on as Brownies next year, but we completely understand if it doesn't work out for your family. If you opt out in 2nd grade, scouts will welcome you back again any time!
If you have any questions, please contact Katie or Jackie, we are here to help in any way we can!

Final Daisy Troop Meeting
Our May (and final Daisy troop) meeting is on Thursday, May 11, from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Apple Creek YMCA.
There is a small fee for this that the troop will cover and we will also be having a pizza dinner to end our troop year so we need to get a headcount. Please let Jackie know as soon as you can if your Daisy is planning to attend this meeting. Katie and myself are available for transporting if needed.
Thank you in advance for letting me know if your Daisy is coming - we hope to see everyone there!!!
UPDATE: If any parents that are dropping off would like to stay for the event/hike, and pizza, you are welcome - just let me know so have enough food :)
