READ UP! "Check Out" the Buckingham Library!
The third trimester is a culmination station in our Buckingham Library! Grade levels are showcasing what we have been learning for the past few months and are now ready to showcase their learning!
- 1st graders have been practicing how to only use keywords and phrases as a note-taking strategy - beneficial with animal research happening soon!
- 2nd grade has been turning in “entrance tickets” each library visit answering, “What shelf would I live on” when given a call number of a book.
- 3rd grade is in the midst of Insect Research and learning how to correctly cite resources. We rap, “Don’t Plagiar-izzle,” to remind us how important paraphrasing and citing resources is when publishing.
- 4th graders are researching mammals and this is the first year students have utilized specialized references. They are becoming masters at using an index to find their mammal topics!
- 5th grade is conducting Revolutionary War research during library time, but will continue the writing process back in class.
- 6th Grade Assessment is here - Students have begun "Presearching" their top-two topic choices - It’s been great seeing them use their research skills independently as a culmination of all of their hard work over their elementary career!
Health Room Updates
- Congratulations Buckingham - All State-Mandated screenings are complete.
