Student Spotlight
LtCol Wimp and GySgt Glaister are excited to announce that the Jack C Hays MCJROTC program has been awarded the designation of Naval Honor School for the 2020 academic year, which places the Jack C Hays cadets and the instructors in the top 10 percent of JROTC programs in the nation.
The selection was based on several criteria including cadet citizenship, involvement in student government organizations, school activities and clubs, the number of community service hours, the number of organizations assisted by the unit, and scholastic achievements including the number of academic awards and scholarships given to cadets.
The units were also measured by participation in public affairs events, drill team competitions, rifle team competitions, physical fitness team competitions, and field trips.

Principal's Message
Dear Hays High School Parents & Students,
As we get back into our “school routines” I want to say thank you for a great start to the 2020-21 school year. Overall, the start of school 2020 went very well. Our kids are utilizing Schoology and gearing up to have a great year.
When we start “in person” learning on September 28 at Hays High School, we are planning for up to 1,200 kids being on campus at that time. Our staff is working hard to make sure safety remains the #1 priority and that our students continue to perform academically no matter if they are “in person” or “virtual” learners. As the old saying goes “learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.” If I can be of service to you, please don’t hesitate to call on me.
Thank you!
