This Is Our Story
“This is Our Story” is a city-wide music and art program that takes place at Valparaiso High School. The program begins with the art show in the main hallways starting at 6:00 PM, then the concert begins at 7:30 PM. All of the Valparaiso Community Schools music departments are involved in this program. The event takes place over two nights, and Parkview’s choir will be participating on Tuesday, December 11th at 7:30 PM.... Our 4th and 5th grade choir will be singing as well as many other music groups from the middle and high school.
December is a Month of Caring
All Parkview Elementary classrooms will be participating in a month of CARING. Each grade level has chosen a project to show how they care. The projects will vary from donating food, books or even money in support of a selected charity. Information should be coming home with your child or their teacher about their caring project. Our fifth grade class will host our Caring Assembly on December 19. Thank you for helping support Parkview's month of caring!
Kindergarten Day of Caring
During the month of December, Parkview Students will discuss the meaning of good will, generosity and giving to those in need. To show this kindness, Kindergarten would like to begin a collection of items for the animals at Lakeshore PAWS. We will drop these donated items off with the money we collected during “Trick or Treat for Pets” to Lakeshore PAWS at the end of December. If you are interested in helping, please send in any of the following items with your child to school by December 12th. We will wrap the items with our 4th grade buddies before we deliver them to Lakeshore PAWS.
· Holiday wrapping paper
· Hand sanitizer
· Paper towels
· Puppy size (extra small & small) leashes and collars
· Toys/balls for tough chewers
· Kong products
· Grain-free dog treats
· Peanut butter (without xylitol)
Thank you,
Kindergarten Teachers
The November 26, 2018 Snow Day Cancellation will be made up on March 15, 2019
Be Prepared for Winter Weather
It’s time to start thinking about colder days. We will need to dig out those hats, boots, scarves, gloves, heavy coats and snow pants! As the weather turns colder, please prepare your child each day with warm clothing. It is a good idea to send hats, gloves, scarves and heavy coats to keep in their backpack. Many days start out warm and then turn cold. To play in the snow when it arrives, your child will need to be wearing boots, gloves, hat, snow pants and a winter coat. Make sure you’re ready—that first snow could come any day! Please take a few minutes and label each item of clothing to avoid confusion.
Breakfast is a Great Way to Start the Day
