New Infinite Campus Apps for Parents and Students
Infinite Campus has released two brand new apps to connect Park Hill families with what’s going on in the classroom. These free apps, called Campus Parent and Campus Student, are designed to give parents and students real-time access to grades, attendance information, assignments, and more. The easy-to-use design displays what is currently happening in the classroom so you can understand, monitor, and participate in the educational process.
They are available for download from both Google Play and the Apple Store. If you already have the current Campus Portal app for parents, it will no longer be supported; make sure to download the new Campus Parent so you don’t miss anything.
Don’t forget to enable push notifications for instant updates! Just download the app, tap the user icon in the top right, and select Settings > Notification Settings.
Habit of the Month - Begin with the End in Mind
This month your child(ren) will be learning about Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind.
Please read about this habit and share this habit at home.
Begin with the End in Mind at Home:
I plan ahead and set goals. I look for ways to be a good citizen. I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I am an important part of my family and I contribute to my family's mission and vision.
Activity Ideas
1) Make a family mission statement. This statement should answer questions like: What does our family want to be known for? How do we treat each other? What unique contributions can we make? What big goals do we want to achieve? What unique talents and skills do we have?
2) Make family dinner together. Include your child in all of the steps - beginning by reading the recipe and thinking about the delicious meal.
3) Do a puzzle together. Before you begin, look at the box to see a picture of the final product.
Redistricting Update
At its Oct. 22 meeting, the redistricting committee reviewed the additional middle-school scenario maps that committee members drew at the last meeting. Based on the committee’s scoring against the Board’s criteria, two scenarios for high-school and middle-school boundaries moved forward. Committee members discussed issues and interests they have heard that community members want us to keep in mind, beyond the Board’s criteria. Then they worked with their table groups to start developing elementary boundary scenarios.
The committee will meet next from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29 in the media center at Plaza Middle School.

Park Hill Stars
The Park Hill Star recognition program was started in 2015 to celebrate support staff and teachers whose work is especially noteworthy.
The following is an overview of the Park Hill Star Program:
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Nominations are not being accepted at this time, but opportunities will re-open at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. Thanks to everyone who took the time to nominate a Park Hill Star this year!

You will also occasionally get an automated email or voicemail message sent to you by the school with important information and reminders. We know two-way communication is best, so please feel free to call, email, or stop by the school with any questions you may have regarding your child’s education.
