Parents of the student ambassadors headed to Japan this summer have organized a fundraiser to help offset the cost of the trip. Paint Night will be held at Cabby Shack on June 5th at 6:30 PM. The item is a serving tray and the host (MIY Studios) assures us everyone can do this well, as stencils and materials needed are provided and included in the price. We hope to see you all there. Plymouth Early Childhood Center
Plymouth Field Trip
Last week the entire preschool went on a walking field trip through downtown Plymouth. Previously students had learned in their classrooms about the town they live in, important things you have in a town, and different kinds of transportation. Most of the classrooms went on a town scavenger hunt, checking off things they would see on their walk. One of the favorite parts of the field trip though was riding on the big yellow school bus for the first time!

Cold Spring Elementary School
Hatching Chicks
Ms. Rosen's fifth graders and Mrs. Pagnotti's kindergarten students have been learning about the life cycle of chicks. Over the past twenty-one days, we have tracked the growth of our chicks, learned about what they need to thrive inside their shell as well as what they need when they hatch. The fifth graders wrote journal entries from the chick's perspective explaining what was happening inside the egg each day. On Tuesday the chicks started pipping their way out of their eggs. We currently have 18 chicks.

Federal Furnace Elementary School
A Garden to Remember
The students in Mrs. Drollett’s class are learning about plants, diversity of organisms, and their habitats. The students had an amazing learning experience by planting a variety of perennials in the Jennifer Kane Garden last Friday. Perfect timing for Memorial Day on Monday! “My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece” ~Claude Monet
Midwest Road Trip
Fourth graders in Mrs. O’Connell’s class have been learning about the Midwest Region of the United States. To show what they know, they have been working on Google slideshows with partners. This week they created a Virtual Road Trip of the region with Google Tour Builder. They look forward to sharing their projects with families during the last week of school.

What Makes a Society Great?
6th-grade students at PSMS were on a quest to discover what made ancient Greece a great society. Students learned about the types of government, the arts and architecture, and the trade and geography of Greece. The unit culminated with each student becoming a Greek god, goddess, hero, creature, or monster to focus on Greek mythology and its lasting effects in our world.
