Inspire Excellence in Education [January 18, 2016]
BSCS 5E Instructional Model
Are We Creating Scientists?
Science instruction is one of our school improvement goals this year. As we teach various science objectives, are we focusing on " coverage" or "depth"? Are we focusing on memorizing facts or creating enduring understanding? Remember students learn best with hands-on experiments and real life experiences. Let's inspire each other to bring out the scientists in our students.
Student Work Display
Remember we must take pride in our students' work. Please make sure your bulletin board is neat and exemplifies excellence.
Synergy!
2nd grade team shared excellent resources from "TEKS In Action" and station ideas during PLC.
Framing the Lesson
"Begin With the End In Mind" -- What is your closing task? Do your students have a clear understanding of what is expected at the end? Is the end product aligned to your initial objective?
This and That
- Let's celebrate some Dreambox success: For the past month, first and 4th grade have the most growth in lesson completions! Classes with the highest average lesson completed: McConnell and Lugo! Classes with the most growth: Escobedo, Arenas, and W. Jones! Keep up the good work!
- Second Grade and Kindergarten get to wear jeans on Tuesday (1/19)! 2nd Grade was the first team to have report card done correctly by the deadline. Kindergarten was the first team to turn in all Leadership Nomination list to Crystal. Thank you for putting first things first!
