Boosting your sales. Now, clearly, you want to make more money, duh! But what else does boosting your sales do for you? It gets products into the hands of more people.....awesome for the mission AND awesome for you to get in front of more people - customers, hostesses and potential consultants.
With that said....how do you do it? Deanna Boyd shared some of her top tips with us on our most recent "Coffee Chat".
Top Tips from a Top Seller
What do do when you START your business.
When Dee started her business - she made a LIST!!! She categorized it as far as hostesses, customers, potentials consultants. She also did this....
- Reached out to everyone in her network. AND, she asked for referrals!
- Announced on Facebook when she started her business.
- Did a mass email to her friends and family with the same announcement.
- Scheduled a launch social BEFORE she even had her products! She had 2 times - an afternoon time & an evening portion. She did it as an open house.
- Stayed consistent with reaching out even after the launch social.
Set Your Goals
The Fortune is in the Follow Up....
- Dee uses a Client Profile Book & a Calendar.
- If you are more techy - you can set up a spreadsheet and use your digital calendar.
- Keep it separate from your other work or personal life. These need to be specific to Beautycounter.
- She bases her follow up system on top personal shoppers at Nordstrom & Neiman Marcus.
- She likes to write reminders and has it all at her fingertips.
- She tries to do 5 reach outs to each person. Sampling, follow up, replenishment....
- If she samples someone today, she puts it in her calendar to follow up with them in 10 days. She wants to make sure that she is not just sending $$ in the mail...
- Before sampling, she finds out about what skin type they have, what are you needing to replace? What are you using currently?
- When she samples people she always lets people know that they will probably not see full results for 3-4 weeks, but this is just to test it out and lets them know that she will be following up with them in a week or so to see how you are liking it. Plant that seed, I am going to be following up with you....Let them know that they should try them right away so you can get their feedback when you follow up.
- What she says...."Hey, how did you like the samples, amazing, right?" Sometimes they will let you know what they want. Sometimes you have to ask for the sale "What would you like to start with?"
- She always samples other products besides the skin care. A Tint or Dew Skin, or another product you think they would like.
- For replenishment, she looks at past orders and follows up with those customer. For a replenishment follow up she will go back to orders from earlier the month before to see who to follow up with. She will usually text or message, or however they like to be contacted...."Hey, Mary. How's it going? I just wanted to check in to see how you're doing on your skin care. Let me know. I'd be happy to place your order for you." This is a service and a reminder....Most times people say, "Oh, I've been meaning to call you.."
How to get people to WANT samples....
"Hey, Lisa. I see that you have been liking a lot of my posts, I would love to get your opinion on Beautycounter?" It never hurts to ask. The worst they can say is no.
How does she book socials?
She makes it the easiest thing they'll do. She'll say, "You, put out the wine and cheese and I'll do the rest.."
Best Tips for Someone Just Starting Out
- Be confident in what we are. We are so different versus any other direct sales company. Compared to the rest of the industry we are different because we are mission driven, we offer a solution, we are education first and we are trying to change laws.
- Don't be afraid to talk about it. Don't be obnoxious, but by talking about it and being genuine and proud.
