- Create a professional profile on LinkedIn and utilize common features (e.g. LinkedIn Newsfeed).
- Utilize LinkedIn for career research (e.g. reverse career pathing, finding companies).
- Network proactively on LinkedIn (e.g. Find Alumni Tool, Advanced Search, tips for messaging contacts).

Location: Career Center Multipurpose Room, Clark Howell Hall
This workshop is open to first- and second-year students exploring majors at UGA. If you are an undecided third or fourth-year student, please call the Career Center to make an appointment with a Career Consultant – 706-542-3375.
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A LAPTOP or TABLET IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE.
In this workshop, you will learn:
• Online resources that help you navigate the exploration process
• Your areas of interest and how they connect to majors
• Common major and career myths
• How to create an action plan to move forward
This workshop is limited to 25 people per session and pre-registration is required. Students can attend ONE Explore Lab for Arch Ready credit.
Grad Workshop: Exploring Industry Careers
Date: Wednesday, February 13
Time: 3:30pm

Many UGA graduate students will ultimately pursue careers in industry, non-profit, and government settings. In this workshop, we will review resources and strategies which may be useful to you in exploring these opportunities. Join us for an engaging discussion about beneficial activities such as mentoring, job shadowing, and internships in addition to more unique forms of exploration such as interactive job simulations. Students will leave with a better understanding of how to tackle industry career exploration and an enhanced knowledge of the resources which are available for you to do so moving forward.
No registration is required.
Arch Ready: Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Recognize what identity is and how it can influence the challenges associated with discussing identity in the workplace
- Identify aspects of an inclusive work environment and the impact of an exclusive workspace
- Know various strategies and resources for addressing diversity related issues in the workplace
- Understand the benefits and challenges of employer & employee privilege
- Recognize and identify generational differences within the workplace

Arch Ready Express Workshop: Job Search Strategies: 5 Tips to Help You Stand Out

This 30-minute express workshop will cover the top five tips to help you stand out in the job search in 15 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes for questions. From developing your application materials to applying for and then following up for jobs online, you’ll learn how to navigate the job search effectively. Feel free to come with any specific questions you have about your job search process. If you're in need of some quick job search tips in between classes, this workshop is for you!
This workshop is open to ALL majors at UGA and counts toward your Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate - http://career.uga.edu/archready.
