Campus Connections
August 27, 2017
Message from Jeff and Yolanda
We hope everyone stayed safe during the rainy weekend. School will be closed on Monday.
The incorporation of the Arts into your teaching practices can help engage both sides of a student's brain through STEAM. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem solving, embrace collaboration and work through the creative process. STEAM provides students with the tools to become the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century.
If you have implemented an instructional strategy that exemplifies a Student Centric approach, please contact Mark Frehe (frehem@collierschools.com) and/or John Monda (mondaj@collierschools.com) as we would love to highlight you, your students and the instructional technique in an upcoming Campus Connection.
