Parent Newsletter- Week of April 19th
Friday is Pat Reynolds Day!! Help us Celebrate!!
Attention 4th grade Parents- STAAR Writing Test is April 27th!!
The STAAR Writing assessment provides the campus with data to help us identify learning gaps so we can direct resources and interventions to address specific student’s learning losses. The data will also assist us as we prepare the students for the 7th grade writing assessment that is in just a few short years.
We are expecting all of our 4th graders to come to campus to take the assessment. As with all our assessments for the virtual learners, they will be in a secure and sanitized testing room. They will be separated from all other students. Students will eat breakfast in the morning and then begin their test promptly at 9:30am. We will hold the students until 3:40pm or you are welcome to pick the student up after they are finished testing.
Procedures for testing day:
Students will be temperature screened and escorted to their testing room.
Students will be provided scratch paper, pencils, and all other testing materials.
Students must wear their masks at all times.
If your student has an SISD chromebook, please bring it on testing day.
We will provide students with breakfast, lunch, snacks, and water. They are also welcome to bring their own lunch.
We appreciate your continued support of your student’s instructional success. This assessment is a valuable tool as we plan for a successful new school year and individual instructional plan for each student. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

District Announcements
Join Us for the 70th Annual Spring Livestock Show & Fair
The Spring Independent School District and Spring Tri-Club invite all members of the Spring ISD community to mark their calendars for the 70th Annual Spring Livestock Show & Fair, taking place Thursday, April 22 through Saturday, April 24 at the district’s Nagy Pavilion, 24037 W. Hardy Rd.
This year’s in-person event will require masks and social distancing, but will also serve as a welcome return to something akin to normal for Spring ISD students after the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in last year’s show and auction being held entirely online.
The three-day fair offers fun for all ages, including a host of formal events each day where Spring ISD students’ own rabbits, goats, lambs, pigs, chickens, and cattle will take turns at center stage. Members of the community are especially invited to join in the fun Friday afternoon and on Saturday, when the festivities will culminate in a silent auction and a special recognition and awards ceremony, followed midday Saturday by the show’s final event – the annual live auction.
Want to see your student’s grades and report cards? Log into HAC!
As we prepare to release progress reports and report cards this fall, we wanted to remind you how to check your child’s grades on the Home Access Center.
The key is to log into the myspringisd portal and into HAC. There you will find a Grades tab. When you click on that, you will see where to locate your child’s progress report (IPR), report cards and more.
Remember, the username and password you use to log into the portal is the same username and password for logging into HAC. Also, parents should log in using their credentials, not their student’s.
Staying connected with your child’s academic progress is a great way to ensure your student’s success in school. By monitoring and encouraging, you can help support your child’s performance.
See the attached handouts in English and Spanish for step-by-step directions.
