This is your Captain Speaking!
Hello Birdneck Family,
We had an amazing turn out and epic opportunity for families to work together on a STEM activity on Friday. Thank you Joann and Sue for taking the lead and to all who helped to make it so successful.
Classes will be introduced to the Maker space so students will continue to be able to use their creative and innovative minds as they guide their own learning. If you have questions about what will be available to students please touch base with Monica Roach, Gail Campbell, or Josh Brown.
Master Lee has requested feedback from the staff with classrooms he has visited. Please send him an email of ways he can better help our students and teachers. He has been helping teachers identify goals for their classrooms and a pathway to get there. Our classrooms finding the greatest success are those in which students are creating their own SEL and academic goals and are monitoring the progress themselves. This is exactly what Master Lee is helping us accomplish. We want students to take ownership of their own learning and behaviors. When they do, they take learning and school more seriously.
Captain out,
RV Yoshida
You Make a Difference
She has a great, positive energy, attitude, and sense of humor. I get the pleasure of working with her every Wednesday and I love seeing the relationships and rapport she’s built with each individual student in her classroom. Her patience and passion for working with students with special needs is contagious and inspiring. I look forward to every Wednesday because of it. Despite whatever she has going on, I’ve seen her go above and beyond for her students and to assist Ms. Luttrell in her classroom. I’m glad to call her a friend and we are so lucky to have her at Birdneck.
You make a difference, Heather Crabtree!
Yearbook Quote & Class Pictures
If you have photos of activities that have been done in your class this year and you would like to add them to your class page in the yearbook, please post them in the Google Drive folder titled "Class Pictures". You can find this folder in the same folder where you post your learning plans. If you need help uploading photos, reach out to Monica and she will help you.
Schoology Workshop Wednesdays
SHOUT OUTS!!!!!
Please shout out Valero and Peterman for the decorations and everyone ( didn’t get all the names) who donated soup and all the other goodies we ate!! Thank you!
Monica would like to give a shout out to all 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers and students for a very smooth round of quarterly testing. There were very little technical issues that needed to be resolved and what issues did pop up, our wonderful faculty was able to resolve most on their own. Way to go Eagles!
5th grade would like to give Josh Brown a shout out for always going above and beyond to support us and our students. We are lucky to have you as part of our team!
