There are only 5 weeks left of school!!

The end of the school year is approaching quickly!! Please make sure that you help your child keep centered and focused here at the end of the school year!!

Progress Reports Sent Home TODAY!!

Progress reports will be coming home with you child today, April 26th. Please be on the lookout for them, and review them with your child. There is only a little time left in the school year to address any issues they may be having in a class. It is important that students do as well as they can in EVERY class.

Please contact the teacher or guidance if you have any questions.

6th Grade Etiquette Dance

Our 6th grade students took part in MSA's 21st annual Etiquette Dance on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Students had a great night. It is amazing to see them at the end of the school year, as they have grown so much since the first day of school.

Attention Thespian Parents

Please mark your calendars for Saturday May 18 th . @ 2:00 PM

Both Thespian classes have been working on creating mini musicals. They have worked

very hard, even composing music- rewriting lyrics-choreographing dances, really good

work.

On that Saturday, we need to have students at school by 1:00 and we will start plays at

2:00. More on the schedule as plays are completed and we have accurate times. After the plays we will have a short break for kids to change into dress clothes and we will do Induction/Awards ceremony. More details to follow.

Parent Pickup Reminders

It is important to note that the proper pick-up procedure at the end of the day is through the parent pick-up circle at the front of the school property. Picking up your children off of school property is not safe, and it violates our neighbors' private property areas.

The entrance of Riviera Dunes, the bank, rehab center, the furniture store or the Courtney are not places that students may be picked up at the end of the day.

We have great relationships with our neighbors and we can't interfere with their businesses or the daily function of their clients. All surrounding businesses have been advised to call local law enforcement if they continue to have problems with parents picking up on their property.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Teacher Appreciation Week

It’s that time of year again. We are looking for volunteers to help prepare for Appreciation Week (May 6-10th)

There will be a Gift Giveaway Day, Thursday May 9th and Breakfast on the 10th, both where we will need parents to help us out. Additionally, items are needed for both days.

If you would like to help in any way please text Michele - (305)283-7172 or email her at MLP680@yahoo.com. Michele can collect donations whenever you are ready or you can drop them off at MSA with a note that says “For Appreciation Week” and text Michele to let her know it’s there. Also one idea is needed for Tuesday. If you have a suggestion let her know. Thank you all for your help in making these events great.

Last Day to Sign Out Library Books

May 3, 2019 will be the last day that the library will sign out any books to students this school year. Please also check that all books that have been signed out are turned in to the library before the end of the school year. Thank you.

ATTENTION 6TH GRADE STUDENTS - SHOT UPDATES REQUIRED BEFORE STARTING 7TH GRADE

All 6th Grade Students must get more shots before 7th Grade.

The State of Florida requires proof of immunization for all students entering 7th grade each year. This proof must be on the official State of Florida Immunization Form (DH680... the Blue Card) which is obtained from your doctor's office or the Health Department. The following immunizations must be documented on this form:

* Tetanus, Diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) - This is the update shot that you need for 7th Grade.

* Hepatitis B vaccine series

* Varicella vaccine or the year of disease

* Two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella)

Please see your doctor or the Health Department for more information and to assure that your child has met these requirements. This documentation must be submitted to the school before the first day of school next year (August 13). Students will not be allowed to come to school until these shot requirements are met. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
