Book Fair!!

Happy Monday! This month the library will be holding a book fair!! The book fair will run from Friday, November 12 until Wednesday, November 17th. It will be held during school hours inside the library. The book fair will also take place on Saturday, November 13th at the Makowski Community School Academy from 10am-1pm. Click on the link below to see an interactive preview of the books that will be at the fair!

You will find Scholastic book order lists in your mailboxes by Wednesday (11/3) morning. Please make sure each student receives one to take home to their families. If you need more, I will have extras in the library. More information on scheduling times for your classes to come to the book fair to follow.

We are Thinkers!

Books are on display for the month of November to celebrate the attribute of Thinker. They are located in the library window. See photo below. This display will change every month according to the attribute being celebrated.

There is also a Fall book display inside of the library! I will be adding some November themed books as well.

As I mentioned in my previous letter, if you would like to check out a book and I am teaching a class or in a meeting, I have created a short form for your convenience to write down your name, the book title, and the barcode number. The barcode number is the sticker on the back of the book with our school's name on it. Please fill out this form and place it in the basket located on the blue circulation desk and I will check the book out to you later.

Mrs. Manley's 4th grade students started learning about research by using our online library databases. We started the unit by looking at various photos of sponges that I took during my trip to Florida this past August. These were taken at Tarpon Springs otherwise known as the "Sponge Capital of the World."

Did you know that a sponge is an animal? The students wrote their questions down and then we honored their questions by exploring the online databases.

I would love to collaborate with you and support your students on any lesson, research or topic!
