Board meeting summary, April 9, 2019
Disposition of Custodian Grievance
A Step 3 grievance was filed by a custodial employee when the grievance was denied at Step 2. The grievance was heard by the School Board grievance committee on April 2, 2019, and recommended that the grievance be denied. The School Board denied the grievance.
2020-2021 school calendar
Placement of staff on unrequested leave of absence
Due to decreases/changes in enrollment, elimination of positions, uncertainty of funding, lack of funds, requests for voluntary unrequested leave of absence, or return from leave of senior teachers, the Board voted to place two learning resource teachers on unrequested leave of absence.
Termination of probationary staff
Due to decreases/changes in enrollment, elimination of positions, uncertainty of funding, lack of funds, performance or return from leave of senior teachers, the Board voted to terminate 26 probationary teachers.
Non-resident enrollment closed through 2020-21
With continued increasing student enrollment throughout our District, the School Board and administration have determined that there will be no new open enrollment offered in Mounds View Public Schools for early childhood and K-12 for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years. Open Enrollment will be closed for the entire 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years so no wait lists will be kept. Siblings of students currently attending will continue to be approved to attend. Families with siblings must still apply during the regular open enrollment time period of December 1 through January 15, 2019.
