WELCOME TO CHRISTIANITY
We believe in the one and only Jesus Christ
Church
Church is where we worship our God. Christians are the followers of Christianity. Our worship days are Sundays, Saturdays and Wednesdays. We believe in one God (Christ). We believe in the Holy Trinity and salvation through believing in God. We use baptism and the Lord Supper as symbols of our salvation.
Prayer
We pray to communicate with our God. We can tell Him about things that are going on in our life. We can ask God about anything and He will listen. We have not other gods, but God.
IMAGES DEPICTING CHRISTIANITY
Holy Bible
This is our holy book. We read from it to help us in everyday life. We believe that God told his messengers to write these words for Him so that we could see his guidelines for our lives. There is a new and old testament included.
The Cross
This is one of our symbols. We believe that Jesus died on the cross for us. We believe that Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven to be with God. We believe Jesus was the son of God.
Pastor/Priest/Minister
The man/woman who guides us through our religious ceremonies. There are many different denominations in Christianity like Protestant (Baptist) and Catholic.
Traditions, Holy days, Holy songs
Easter, Christmas and Baptism
Easter is always on a Sunday in the Spring. We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus after he
was killed on the cross. Christmas is the birthday of Jesus in Bethlehem. We celebrate on the 25th of December. Baptism and the Lord Supper are sacraments/traditions we observe.
Bethlehem
The site where Jesus was born. Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem to pay taxes. While there, Jesus was born in a stable. The angels sang at his birth, shepherds came to visit, and three wise men followed the star to bring presents for the newborn.
