Polkadot Class Happenings

The Week of April 29 - May 3

In reading this week we are continuing with our non-fiction research unit. Students are reading non-fiction texts and continuing to practice identifying the topic, main idea, and supporting details. Students will be jotting down important information to use for their individual research project.

The students have been working hard on finding answers to their research questions and will start writing down their work on non-fiction paper. They are excited about their topics and sharing the information they learned.

In math we are learning how to multiply and applying it in problem solving situations. The students are learning that multiplication is repeated addition. You can help your child with multiplication by pointing out multiplication situations that may come up in every day life.

Social Studies

This week we are starting our Economics Unit. We are learning about needs and wants and about goods and services. You can help your child understand these concepts at home by pointing out goods and services in your community or that you see when you go grocery shopping.
