Principal's Note
Lamar Families,
This newsletter was suppose to go out last week but obviously with our school closure that did not happen. I want to first and foremost thank our families, faculty/staff, and our greater school community for their continued work to meet the social and academic needs of our students.
To help meet the needs of our students during this continued pandemic, the school has developed an academics support plan for any student that is at home due to quarantine. This plan was sent out last week and is available below. It provides access by grade level and subject to Google Classroom and also times for live teacher support.
In addition, the Washington County Board of Education recently revised the Covid-19 guidelines for the district and specifically the procedures regarding masked students and quarantine. This document is available below for your viewing.
Finally, we are officially half way through our first nine weeks. Please note that you can access you child midterm grades using the PowerSchool button below. You can also check our your child's TCAP scores (grades 4-8) using the directions in the letter below from our director of schools Mr. Boyd. STAR testing has been completed for the Fall. Parent reports for this should be on their way home so you can also discuss result with your child.
Feel free to call the office if you have any questions or concerns.
Again, we appreciate your continued support as we move to fulfill our school's mission of "meeting the educational needs of all students enabling them to be responsible and productive citizens."
Respectfully,
Mark Merriman

Support Our School!
Your child and your child’s school benefit when you join PTA. The membership dues and extra donations fund supplies, equipment, and other items at Lamar School.
Did you know our school was designed with outdoor alcoves for picnic tables? We’d like you to help us provide those tables for our students so they can eat outdoors. Our goal is to purchase at least 10 tables this school year (see picture below). A membership form will be coming home this week. Please consider joining PTA, DONATING, or VOLUNTEERING!
