Bobby Jones

Biography / Impact in 1920's
Bobby Jones was born on March 17,1902 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the only child of Robert Purmedus Jones and Clara Thomas. He excelled in school, graduating Tech High School in 1918. After that, Jones attended college at Georgia Tech, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He then went to Harvard and got a B.A. in English literature. Jones worked for 2 years in real estate before attending law school in Atlanta. After graduating, Jones joined his fathers law firm and practiced both law and golf for a long time.
