Who are we? We are Young Marines!!
The Young Marines strengthens the lives of America’s youth by teaching the importance of:
- self-confidence,
- academic achievement,
- honoring our veterans,
- good citizenship,
- community service and,
- living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Our Mission!
We promote a health drug-free lifestyle. The drug usage is growing, we go and talk to our Young Marine and tell them what types there are, what do do when near drugs, and how to prevent their friends from using drugs. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building and leadership and promotes a lifestyle that is conducive to being productive members of society. The Young Marines is the officially recognized youth organization of the United States Marine Corps to the Defense Department’s Drug Demand Reductions effort.
Young Marines vs. Sea Cadets. Whats the difference?!?
Sea Cadets and Young Marines are two different groups. For one, they are two different branches of the military, Sea Cadets are Navy while Young Marines are part of the Marine Corps. And second, they do totally different things. They both do drills at meeting but the age limits are different. Young Marines is 8 years old to the completion of high school, while Sea Cadets is 11 to 17 years old.
