What's Happening...
Students are continuing their study of habitats in reading. We have been practicing our annotation skills using the new ELA adoption as well as talking about ecosystems and animals. They are practicing daily protocols, number sense, problem solving, and learning math games every day with Mrs. Bundenthal.
We are nearly done with our exploration of the Next Generation Science cross cutting concepts. These are concepts that cut through all topics and subjects. Check out this website to learn more about them and have a conversation with your child where they might see these concepts.
Coastal Cleanup
Reminders from last week...
If you are interested in driving/chaperoning for our field trips this year, please make sure that you have been fingerprinted and field trip car insurance forms are completed. If you have already been fingerprinted with the district and filled out insurance forms, you will just need to confirm with Miss Danni in the front office that your insurance is up to date.
We will be collecting donations for Hurricane Harvey for one more week. Mrs. Vermes will be working with the Rotary Club in LaGrange: http://www.lagrangerotary.org/ (Houston Area) to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Harvey. We'll be collecting coins, spare change, or dollars that will directly help those who lost homes, cars, jobs, family, toys, etc in the devastation. There will be an envelope available in the classroom to put your donation.
