Character Education Word of the Month: Responsibility
Our character education word for November is responsibility- do what you are supposed to do. Plan ahead. Do your best . Show self-control. Think before you act. Be accountable. Set a good example.
This month I would like to hear examples from students on how they demonstrate responsibility. Please email me with your child’s ideas and/or pictures of how they demonstrate responsibility. Teachers will also share examples with me of how their students demonstrated responsibility. At the end of the month, we will recognize students who demonstrated responsibility.
World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day is Friday, November 13th. World Kindness Day is an international holiday that was formed in 1998, to promote kindness throughout the world and is observed annually on November 13. Look for additional information in the coming days as to how the Malta Ave community will celebrate this special day.

Chromebook Care
Three tips to keep your Chromebook working properly:
Everyday, your child should click on the sign-out and shutdown buttons on the Chromebook. This is how apps update.
Weekly your child should click in the upper right hand corner, click on the three dots, scroll down to More Tools, Clear Browsing Data, and in the Time Range, click the drop down arrow and choose All time, Clear Data. **Best time to do so would be at the end of the school day.
If the Dashboard is not opening, click on the WSG button located in the top right corner and click sync . (You may have to click on the puzzle piece to see the WSG button)
Cleaning your Chromebook:
Make sure the Chromebook is completely powered down and unplugged.
Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a cleaning cloth, do NOT saturate the cloth. Wipe down the entire Chromebook including the screen and around each key of the keyboard. Use only a small amount of pressure to remove any fingerprints or smudges on the screen, but not too much since this could damage the screen. * A Clorox wipe can be used if all moisture is squeezed out of it prior to cleaning them then wipe with a clean dry cloth.
All Students-Free Breakfast and Lunch
