Principal's News
Hello Neidig Families,
Welcome to the Neidig Newsletter! Each month, we will share this newsletter with you to keep you up to date with the events and activities occurring at our school. Please take some time to read through The Neidig News each month. Archived copies are always available on Mr. Godshalk's Parent and Student Canvas Page.
A GREAT Start!
I want to thank the entire Neidig community for a positive and productive start to the 2017 - 2018 school year. Teachers have their classroom routines set, and students are working hard to improve their skills. Families have been patient and understanding with our transportation changes at Neidig, and I thank you for that. These new procedures are going very well.
Our Mission!
Did you notice Neidig's new mission statement at the top of this newsletter? After a year of working through the process, Neidig's new mission statement is:
Building a community of leaders who inspire greatness!
This statement captures the leadership principles we promote as well as the understanding that our students' responsibilities do not end at Neidig's front door. As students mature, the tools and skills they learn at Neidig will help them inspire greatness in others. We will be sure to share how our leaders are inspiring others!
Our Little Leaders
Neidig is off and running with our second year of implementation of The Leader in Me. This school-wide personal leadership process is producing wonderful results. We encourage you to learn more about The Leader in Me by accessing the resources available in The Leader in Me module of Mr. Godshalk's Canvas page. These resources will help you continue these important principles and discussions at home.
Canvas
You are hearing a lot about our district's online learning management system, Canvas. As you most likely know, teachers no longer have web pages on our school web page. Instead, teachers maintain a Canvas course. This is essentially a web page, but the resources, tools, and opportunities available in Canvas allow students and parents to receive a much more in depth experience than a typical web page. Many of you have started taking advantage of Canvas. If you have not yet done this yet, you are missing out on important building communication and opportunities. Please access THIS PAGE to get started with Canvas.
Thank you,
Scott D. Godshalk
Inspiring Greatness!
