Mrs. Kelley's 1st Grade Class Newsletter
We had a BLAST at our Valentine Party on Friday! Thank you to the awesome moms and especially Mrs. Brynie, our Room Mom, for planning such a fun event! Please bear with me, there were so many great pictures so I am posting TONS of them! Thank you for all my wonderful notes, goodies, gifts, and treats! You all have spoiled me!
Remember students have off this Monday for President's Day! Enjoy the long weekend and this sunny, beautiful weather!
Please have your child work on their Six Flags Reading Minutes this week! All Six Flags Reading Logs are due this Friday, February 19th. Also, please help me out by adding, totaling, and circling the total of all of your child's minutes and also signing the sheet. This will help me SO MUCH! I will be happy to check out new books for your child every day this week if they need them.
Here is a message from our PTA about BoxTops:
Collection Day for Box Tops & Labels for Education is Friday, February 19th! Neatly cut BOX TOPS and tape them to a piece of paper 25 per sheet. Make sure you include student's name, teacher and grade on each sheet of paper that you use. Also, LABELS for EDUCATION need to be returned in a Baggie. Please label with student name, teacher and grade. The class with the most collected will receive a cookie party!
Here is a message from Mrs. Cyr, our Science Discovery teacher:
Could you please add to your newsletter or send an email asking the parents to send in toilet paper rolls and cereal boxes for a racecar activity? I will need these items by next week.
Thank you so much for your help with this project,
We have 2 field trips this year. The Dallas Arboretum and LISDOLA (LISD's Outdoor Learning Center). These dates will come home soon. If you do not already have an approved LISD background check, please visit the following link : LISD Background Check. If you have any questions about the background check, please contact the front office for more information. Background checks usually take up to 3 weeks to process, sometimes longer, so please do not wait if you think you might want to chaperone.
