World Autism Awareness Day

On April 2nd, CRB will be participating in Autism Ontario’s Raise the Flag campaign. World Autism Day is an historic day in Canada for the autism community because it brings to light the struggles and triumphs of people on the autism spectrum and unites families, schools, communities, government and professionals to make Ontario a better place for people living with Autism.

Many people are sensitive to tags on clothing and that often includes people with autism. On April 2nd CRB will be having, “Inside Out Day” when we wear our shirts inside out to support autism awareness! Thanks in advance for your support.

It’s never too late to join in and order lunch for your children. Kidssentials has many hot, satisfying & healthy options available for both picky & savvy eaters. The bonus...entrees are served fresh, mixed and assembled, at your school just minutes before the lunch bell rings. A great change from home-packed lunches.

If this is your child's last year at the school, please be sure to use your credit before the end of June; you may use it to order any available dates or add drinks or snacks to your current order. Credits may also be donated to help defer the costs of meals for needy children. Credits have no cash value and will not be refunded.

There is still time to give "Kidssentials, the Catering Service for Kids" a try! Proud to be serving GTA families since 1996.; office 905-855-1914

Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, the Me to We Club is organizing a used game and stuffed animal sale for Wednesday, April 17. The Me to We Club would greatly appreciate donations of games with all the required pieces and clean stuffed animals. A donation box will be located outside of the Main office. All items will be on sale for $1 or $2 on April 17 and all proceeds will be donated to Me to We. Thank you for your support!

Student Parliament is collecting Gently Used Shoes to Help Soles4Souls Fight Global Poverty

One person’s unwanted shoes can help provide meaningful opportunities that many in developing nations need, which is why the student parliament has launched a shoe drive to collect 350 pairs of new or gently used summer shoes.

The shoes that Charles R. Beaudoin's community collects will be delivered to Soles4Souls – a non-profit social enterprise that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. Founded in 2006, the organization has distributed more than 30 million pairs of new and used shoes in 127 countries.

The World Bank estimates that approximately 767 million people, 385 million of whom are children, live on less than $1.90 per day. Millions of these children don’t have access to adequate footwear resulting in significant ramifications for their health and well-being. Meanwhile, many adults don’t have access to sustainable employment.

Soles4Souls not only provides short-term relief by distributing brand new shoes and clothing donated by retailers and manufacturers but also creates economic impact and keeps unwanted textiles out of landfills. All of CRB's donated shoes will be distributed to the organization’s micro-enterprise programs that create jobs in Haiti, Honduras and other developing nations.

2019 Student parliament's shoe drive for Soles4Souls information:
• Between April 1 and April 30th, bring your new or used shoes of any kind to: Mme Gauthier-Black's classroom ( room 35)

A message from the CRB Celebration Crew

CRB is a learning community where we want all students and their families to feel welcome and appreciated. In order to further support one another and increase inclusivity, we would like to highlight the holidays and traditions that are important to our students throughout the year. If you have a photo of your child and/or family celebrating a special tradition or holiday event that we may include in a slideshow highlighting that celebration (Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Christmas, etc.) please send it to us via email (hard copies are also welcome) at The slide show will only run in the front foyer of the school for our students and staff. We look forward to bringing theschool community together during the many special celebrations held throughout the year.

Let’s get started! Send us your photos.
