Cigarroa Dance Team's 1st Place STEM Day Digital Video
This week David, Chris, and I attended PLCs with all grade level teams and I have to say I left that day exhausted yet so impressed with the level of conversations about teaching and learning from the very people who are in front of our students everyday. As we approach the last week of the 4th six weeks' marking period, I am confident that the day-to-day efforts you are making will manifest in increased student achievement and progress at the end of the year. This weekend, we'll celebrate Presidents' Day with a three-day break for you. Enjoy the well-deserved extra day of rest and relaxation!
Here is important information for this week:
Mark your calendars! The Spring 2016 ACP Film Festival is April 9. A link to the registration website is in the button below.
4th six weeks' Interim Assessments are all ready to be administered this week. Please pump up your kids so that they do their very best on this data checkpoint!
The 4th six weeks marking period also ends this week. Please take a moment to update all of your grades in GradeSpeed and please be cognizant of Dallas ISD Board Policy regarding failure rates (less than 10% per course). Don't forget to contact Jennifer Mathai with concerns about special education students in her caseload.
This is just a friendly reminder that Monday, February 22 is the day that kindergarten to 2nd grade teachers teams stay after for their 4th six weeks data-driven instruction meetings from 3:35-5:05. Tuesday, February 23 is reserved or 3rd through 5th grade teams.
Parish Episcopal HS students will host another Saturday school for 3rd-5th grade math students next Saturday, February 20. 3rd-5th grade teachers should give all student work to Micaela Gomez by 8:00 AM Friday, February 19. Please also remind your students throughout the week to come to work with their Parish Episcopal tutors!
Don't forget, should you choose to participate in the special "We love Cigarroa!" month, please make sure that you visibly wear your heart which includes a reason why you love Cigarroa. Participants should wear a new heart every day and everyone should give their hearts to Mrs. Flores at the end of each day. I'm enjoying reading all of the reasons why you, and I, love our school!
Have a great four day week!
